Percussionist Daryl Belcher is a passionate teacher that believes music is a lens through which life is seen and is encouraged and developed through imagination. He received his Bachelors of Music and Masters of Music in Percussion Performance for the University of Akron and the Hartt School of Music Respectively.
Daryl advocates for the fusion of multiple disciplines in the arts with an emphasis on electronic music, drumkit, and contemporary percussion. He has worked in a variety of disciplines throughout the U.S. including: collegiate steel bands, modern dance accompaniment, improvisational acting, traditional Ghanaian, Cuban and Brazilian ensembles, pit orchestras, and jazz ensembles. Most recently, Daryl taught privately and directed the percussion ensemble at the College of Southern Nevada in addition to performing with the Las Vegas Philharmonic. He has also worked at Majestic Behavioral Health and Opportunity Village where he focused on music as a vessel for teaching coping strategies, behavioral adjustments and confidence building for people with intellectual disabilities.
Robert "Hutch" Hutchinson
Robert 'Hutch' Hutchinson took his first drum lesson at age 7 and started his first rock band at 16 years old. Hutch studied at the Faunt School of Creative Music in Studio City, California from 1997-2000, and has been teaching professionally for over 12 years. Hutch studied with Ozzie Osgood for over 5 years, then with Jim Rozzelle at The Hartt School (University of Hartford) and finally with Tom Mendola at the Faunt School. Hutch is currently studying under master Afro-Cuban percussionist Idalberto Perdomo.
Hutch was a member of several notable bands, including Elysian Field (1972-1973), Whisper (1978-1979) and Holding Pattern (founded in 1979). Hutch recorded an LP with Holding Pattern that was sold in the U.S., Europe, Canada, Mexico and Japan, and in 2006 he performed in Tokyo, Japan with the group.
Bryan Caudle has been playing drums since he was nine years old. He started playing professionally at age 15 and has been working steadily ever since. He studied music theory at the Hartford Camerata Conservatory. He has performed with a diverse array of bands ranging from rock, pop, jazz, blues, country, world music, classical and various marching bands. He has performed all over the world and has shared the stage with many world class musicians. He has be teaching percussion privately since age 22 and has been teaching in Middletown since 2006.
